Our first day of riding is Sunday March 18th Both "B" & "A/B" riders will be doing the same route, a 56 mile out and back. Do as much or as little as you want, there maybe an option for additional miles. The ride briefing will be at 9:45. Your ride leaders will be in the courtyard by 9:30 with the sign-up sheets and maps.
For the rest of the week, "B" rides lead by Susan Evan will have a ride briefing at 9:45, in the courtyard. I will be there at 9:30 with sign-up sheets and maps. After the ride briefing we will head out on our bikes or drive to the ride start.
I will go over the route for that day and also talk about what we have planned for the next day
"A/B" rides will be lead by Ken Nater and Scott Gregory. These rides give you more mileage and a faster pace. There will be Ride To The Ride (RTTR) options available. RTTR options will be discussed the day prior. Start time for the RTTR will be 8:30
All self-sufficient riders are welcome to do any level ride.
There will be no sag vehicle available except for our Figueroa Mountain ride
As always, there will be the usual TCBC safety briefing each morning. All the same TCBC safety rules that apply in the Twin Cities, will also apply in Solvang
A Few Reminders
Please be considerate of your fellow riders and be on time for the ride briefings
Everyone's TCBC membership must be current
Make sure that you know your rider number
Each Person must have their Emergency Contact form filled out; keep one in your bike bag and give the other to Susan
Don't forget to bring both warm and cool weather clothes. The weather can start out cool in the mornings, but get warmer in the afternoon
Don't forget your swimsuit; the hotel has a pool (not heated) and a hot tub
Dr J's Bike Shop is across the street from the hotel. They have a wonderful bike map of the area, with all the roads that we will be on. This bike map was created by local bikers. The map is $6.95, well worth the cost, especially if you tend to get lost
My Favorite Restaurants
Succulent Cafe, Solvang
Cecco Restaurant, Solvang
Hitching Post, Buellton
Los Olivos Cafe, Los Olivos
